"Made for Huawei": The Chinese smartphone giant Huawei want to be involved in the accessories market now. Third-party certification can stick a sticker Huawei on the packaging. Samsung might not like that.
Huawei: First accessory product already available
Other smartphone manufacturers such as Apple, Samsung and Xiaomi have already taken this step. Now Huawei's turn. In China, the "Made for Huawei" should be already underway, even though the group has not yet officially commented on the subject. The first product is a USB Type C to HDMI Cable for the new Huawei Mate 10 is offered. More products will follow soon in all likelihood.

It is still unclear at this time whether Huawei will offer the accessories program also outside the domestic market. In other Asian and European countries smartphones from Huawei are becoming more popular, which is why an expansion of the newly launched certification program for third-party is likely.
New sources of revenue for Huawei
While the competition is already on, Huawei enters with the accessories program first time new territory. As basic an additional revenue stream must have been convincing enough for the executive suite. Apple, for example, the certification of official accessories can cost money. Huawei now also want to get a piece of the pie.
Samsung as the world's largest manufacturer of smart phones the new attack from China may not like. The South Koreans are under tremendous pressure from Huawei and Xiaomi, which no longer bring only middle-class devices to market. Manufacturers of smart phone accessories direct their products currently still strongly to Samsung from - but that may change in the near future if Huawei plays his cards right.
